PAINT PROTECTION FILM (PPF)   VS
CERAMIC COATING

Paint Protection Film (PPF) and Ceramic Coating are two distinct methods for protecting a vehicle's paint, each with its own advantages and characteristics:

  • Material: PPF is a clear, thermoplastic film that is applied to the vehicle's painted surfaces.

  • Physical Protection: PPF provides a physical barrier against rock chips, scratches, and minor abrasions. It is designed to absorb and disperse the impact energy, reducing the risk of damage to the underlying paint.

  • Durability: PPF is highly durable and can last for several years, depending on the quality of the film and the installation.

  • Self-Healing: Llumar products have self-healing properties, which means that minor scratches and swirl marks can disappear with exposure to heat or sunlight.

  • Visible: PPF is visible on the vehicle's surface, although high-quality films are designed to be nearly invisible when properly applied.

In summary, the key difference between PPF and ceramic coating is the method of application and the type of protection they offer. PPF provides physical protection against impact damage, while ceramic coating provides chemical resistance and enhances the paint's appearance. Some vehicle owners choose to use both PPF and ceramic coating for comprehensive protection and a superior finish, as they complement each other in terms of protection and aesthetics.
